Every year, 51 million bars of soap are thrown away by hotels in France.
Believe it or not, we are the first organization in France to recycle hotel soaps.
We’ve been doing this since 2017, and it happens in three steps.

Believe it or not, we are the first organization in France to recycle hotel soaps.
We’ve been doing this since 2017, and it happens in three steps.
We pick up used soaps from hotels before they’re thrown away.
They’re collected during room cleaning, and once boxes are filled, our transport partner comes to pick them up.
Simple. Efficient.
A little cleaning, a splash of water, we heat everything into a fresh paste, then mold it into 100g bars. We even stamp them with the UNISOAP logo: that’s the finishing touch.
Here you go!
Be assured that our “magical soap” recipe complies with current cosmetic regulations.
This entire recycling process happens in Lyon, at an ESAT (social workshop), and is carried out by people with disabilities.
In France, 3 million people can’t afford basic hygiene products. So we definitely don’t plan to keep these soaps for ourselves.
We partner with NGOs like Restos du Cœur (“Restaurants of the Heart”) to distribute the soaps we recycle. Their strong national network makes it possible to reach the most vulnerable populations all over France.
Thanks to them for their incredible work!
A single clip can tell a thousand stories: discover how a collection works with one of our hotel partners, Les Aubergistes Lyonnais.
We take you behind the scenes, meet the teams. And you’ll see why this initiative is meaningful for them, for us, and most of all, for those who need it most.

If it worked for them, it could work for you too.
